AVCHD MTS file no Audio Playback

Hey guys and gals –

Our company just switched over to shooting in AVCHD. We just got the first bit of footage in today and low and behold there's a problem. For some reason we're not getting any audio playback when direct importing the MTS file into AVID MC. We're using version 5.0.4. Also, when playing the file in Windows Media Player there is no audio playback. However, the DP has said that he has taken the footage home and it is playing back fine (audio and video) in Final Cut Pro.

What am I missing here? Any thoughts/advice/ideas/or major criticism tossed my way will be appreciated.
