The future for AS…

I bought my first avid symphony 10 years ago. It was expensive but I have thougt it was worth the money. Untill now. The introduction of V 5. Smart tools that are not smart at all, actually quite stupid mostly. Looks more like FCP…..

IE. Why Apple X  and V turns on the smart tool and forces me into segment mode is not smart for me….

Keyframes…..  its 2010….

Anyway; In ten years we have asked for;

Match framing of Graphics files…

Modern alpha channel management…..

New paint package…..

Softedge in dropshaddow….

Ability to copy and paste effects…..

Background rendering….   Come on… Imovie had this in V1 10 years ago!!!

Insted the V5  gives me a FCP like tool only 20 times as expensive…. This is not a good development.

Hard drive configuration to get the best perfromance for MC5?

Recently built a new system for MC5 and currently have my OS drive as 1tb Hitachi 7200rpm drive. I just ordered the Samsung F3 1tb drive and is supposedly the fastest non SSD drive out right now.. So i'm wondering which would be a better setup? Putting the samsungg as the OS drive or as the media/render drive? I want the best performance as far as rendering. Don't care about shaving 5 seconds off my boot time! thanks..
