Buy for DS

Hi,

I am impressed with the fact that The DS development team tries to keep DS alive. And it feels like they are succeeding. But if you look to the list of features added in the last year there are mainly functional. No new key features. ( the big Wish list is a the proof ).

Early versions of DS added additional key features using acquired products ( Elastic Reality , Matador paint etc )   This is nothing new. AutoDesk buys the Matchmover for their 3d tracker that is now in their products, Adobe buys Curious software  gfx pro  for raster paint and  rotoscoping added in After Effects, etc.

So I look around and I found a product that contains a lot of features that I like to see in DS like planar tracker, power matte, unlimited number of animated B-spline, X-Spline or Bézier shapes etc.

If any of you have other proposals please ad to this thread. Maybe will be useful. maybe not.

Codecs, Codecs, Codecs

Wanted import options:

1. AVCHD

There are tons of AVCHD material out there and two Pro Cams using this format. Almost every day I'll get at least one  AVCHD-file on a harddisk to edit with. Fluent AVCHD editing nowadays is possible with even small programs like Edius Neo. I always have to switch to Edius Neo or to FCP.

2. DVD-Import MPEG II

Same thing. So much archive stuff on DVD.

3. Interframe > 50 mbits like Nanoflash codecs

I would like to shoot and edit the 100 Mbits codec from the nanoflash unit if Avid supported it.

Please no 3rd party solutions. I want to choose the folder on the harddisc containing the media, select the file and import it to the bin. DVDs directly from the drive. Just as easy as this.
