Sorenson Media and Avid Comm. re: Sorenson Squeeze 8

All,

I have elected to start this new thread as the old one was getting long in the tooth and I didnt want folks to have to wade through pages and pages and get confused as to that the scoop is.

Below is the final update from Avid and Sorenson Media Commuication Regarding Sorneson Squeeze 8 :)   Special thanks to Dave/Matt/Jon at Avid and the Sorenson Team.

Avid and Sorenson Media are pleased to announce that we are reinstating the full version of Sorenson Squeeze 8 with new Media Composer 6, Symphony 6 and NewsCutter 10 purchases or upgrades to Media Composer 6, Symphony 6 and NewsCutter 10.  Sorenson Squeeze 8 (64 bit) is feature compatible with the previous version of Sorenson Squeeze that were included with versions 5.5/9.5.

This means that any Media Composer 6, Symphony 6 or NewsCutter 10 customer who received Sorenson Squeeze either on the Avid Installation CD (version 7.0.1.132) or as part of the software download (version 8.0.0.51) with their new system or upgrade, can now gain access to the new features of Sorenson Squeeze 8 (version 8.0.1.30) like GPU accelerated encoding, adaptive bit rate encoding, NLE plug-ins, new format support and  more.

Customers who are eligible should:

1.  Go to the Sorenson Media website to obtain the new version 8.0.1.30 software:

www.sorensonmedia.com/downloads/

2.  Install the new Sorenson Squeeze 8.0.1.30 version over the existing Sorenson Squeeze version 7.0.1.132 or Sorenson Squeeze version 8.0.0.51 Lite software.

3.  Enter the original Sorenson Squeeze 7 or 8 Lite activation key/serial # issued by Avid to activate this new version.

Important note regarding activation:  Customers should always deactivate existing versions prior to updating.  If you are unable to activate, launch Sorenson Squeeze 7 or 8 Lite depending on what you have installed and deactivate before proceeding with the Sorenson Squeeze 8 full installation.

Important note for those that already upgraded:  For those that upgraded to the full version of Sorenson Squeeze 8 on the Avid Store , I will be in direct contact with you via email over the next few days.

Both Avid and Sorenson Media appreciate your patience as we worked through the reinstatement process.

Thanks all and any questions, feel free to email me or AOL IM (avidmarianna)
