Important – MC 6, Symphopny 6 and NewsCutter 10 Info.

Folks,

There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding MC 6, Symphopny 6 and NewsCutter 10 availability and upgrade information.

Orders:

1.      Pre-orders:  Starting on November 3, 2011 customers can pre-order new Media Composer 6, Symphony 6 and NewsCutter 10 product or upgrades to Media Composer 6, Symphony 6 and NewsCutter 10 from Avid directly or an authorized Avid Reseller.

2.      Avid Online Store: Starting on November 15, 2011, new Media Composer 6 product and upgrades as well as the Symphony 6 upgrade will become available for purchase and download on the Avid Online Store..

3.      Shipping Product:  Starting on November 17, 2011, new Media Composer 6, Symphony 6, and NewsCutter 10 product orders and upgrades will begin shipping from Avid directly or from an authorized Avid Reseller.  

Upgrades:

If you……..

·        Own one of the following – Media Composer 5.x, Symphony 5.x or NC 9.x system now.  You can buy/upgrade to Media Composer 5.5, Symphopny 5.5 or NC 9.5 now and receive a no charge upgrade to MC 6, Symphony 6 or NC 10 when available 11/15 (software download only from the protect site).

·        Own one of the following – Media Composer 5.5.x, Symphony 5.5.x or NC 9.5.x system now.  You can buy/upgrade to Media Composer 6, Symphopny 6 or NC 10 when available for purchase on 11/15.

Important –  If you already own Media Composer 5.5, Symphony 5.5 or NewsCutter 9.5 then you should NOT buy another uprgade to Media Composer 5.5, Symphony 5.5 or NewsCutter 9.5.  This will  NOT work as you already own 5.5/9.5.  If you do buy a second upgrade for your system then the codes provided will not allow you to upgrade to MC 6, Symphpny 6 or NC 10 because your license has already BEEN uprgaded.

If you have bought a second upgrade, you will need to return the upgrade to the Avid Store or the location you bought it at.    Once MC 6, Symphony 6 or NewsCutter 10 is available 11/15/11, you can then buy the 5.5/9.5 to 6/10 upgrade.

exporting quicktime

We just upgraded to 10.5 and I tried exporting a quicktime movie today for facebook. It plays fine on the pc side, but when I play a 640×360 clip on the mac side it stretches the clip to 768×360. Why?
