rendering during export

HI –
I have to export several 20 minute episodes of a series I cut. On many of them, I had to color correct the video levels. They are all being exported to uncompressed QT from Media Composer. The question is, does the color correct effect automatically get rendered during the export process, or do I have to take the time to render first, THEN export? If you wouldnt mind, please also respond to my email TVBROADWAY@aol.com incase I miss your responce here.
