MOTU Traveler locks up Avid on Audio Punch In

Has anyone got a MOTU traveler working with AVID as an input device (specifically for doing audio punch in)? Right now I can record from my MOTU traveler into Audacity and then import the files into AVID but it's a bit of a hassle. I suppose I could not use the MOTU and use my field mixer to input sound directly into the MBP line input jack also. What I really want to do is just select the MOTU and start punching in audio. Here is what I know.

MOTU show up in MBP system preferences and I can see levels i in the OSX Sound Preferences

MOTU will record just fine in Audacity

MOTU shows up as an option in AVID and I can select it

Once I press record with MOTU selected it locks up AVID ( force quit is required )

Mic Punch In is working fine in AVID 5.0.1

I would be grateful if someone can help me bridge the gap to get the MOTU to send audio directly into the AVID sequence.

Urgent plea about double-control feature

Urgent plea about double-control feature

Dear Avid, you know I love you. I really do.

But please please please can we make the double-control-enters-goto-timecode feature optional? Great for laptops, but over the past few months it has gone from annoying to infuriating. I hit control very often, mostly to get my cursor to edit points. A thousand times a day, I enter this goto timecode feature, which – if I needed it – I can acces by simply using the numeric keypad.

I cannot get used to it, it slows me down, and I feel it should be optional by design.
